Peak Support Q&A: Angeline de Leon
Allow me to introduce one of our incredible Service Delivery Managers, Angeline. Angeline or Anj for short, enjoys reading books and sketching. Her favorite movies include I am Legend, Tron Legacy, and The Hobbit trilogy. When it comes to music, she listens to songs by Air Supply, Backstreet Boys, NSYNC, and A1. Anj and her family own a beach hut and it is where they go to relax, recharge, and spend quality time together. So how did Anj end up at Peak Support? Well, she was enjoying her maternity leave a few years back and used that time to go job hunting. And as fate would have it, she found a Peak Support job posting in one of the Facebook Groups she was following. And the rest is history. If she could, Anj would like to retire when she’s 45-years old. Read on to get to know Anj better.
What’s the one thing that you will never change about your childhood?
Our impoverished life and humble beginnings. It’s an important part of my life that taught me three valuable things. First is resilience. Going through poverty requires individuals to be creative and adapt to challenging situations and develop resilience and resourcefulness. Second is to have empathy and compassion. Experiencing poverty can give individuals the experience and perspective of the difficulties and struggles of others who may be going through similar situations, which leads to greater empathy and compassion towards other people. Lastly, to be grateful for everything and be able to appreciate simple things. Being forced to live with less can help people learn to appreciate family, health, and relationships better.
Is there an ice cream flavor that you can never get enough of?
Rocky Road. When I was a child, I thought that being able to eat rocky road ice cream meant that you were rich. LOL!
Which city would you like to be a tourist guide in?
Tokyo, Japan, and it’s all thanks to the best animation studios in the city. Those animation studios inspired me to become an illustrator and editorial cartoonist. I even had the opportunity to become a part of the school publication, and that helped me survive college. So I look forward to seeing and visiting Studio Ghibli or Toei Animation someday.
When was the last time you broke a rule?
This one is tough because I’m a firm believer that you should “obey first before you complain”. But I do remember two instances wherein I had to cut classes because: one, I had to cram for a project that needed to be submitted and two, I had to go to a job interview that kickstarted my BPO journey.

Listened to my parents more in my younger days when they told me to sleep, eat, laugh, and play as much as I want.
How active are you on social media?
I tend to my keep my social media usage low because I recently noticed that my four-year-old, Maiah, would try to get my attention when I’m holding my phone. I want to make her feel important. So I’ll be on social media sparingly on weekdays and the most I’ll be on it is during Sunday evenings when she’s already asleep.
When was the last time you cried tears of joy?
When I gave birth. That moment was golden and precious. I cried after I heard the doctor’s response to my question if my baby’s fingers were complete.
If you could only keep one material possession forever, what would it be?
Without a doubt, my iPad. It allows me to draw and journal anywhere, download a lot of E-books, and store tons of great memories. The voice recording feature is great too.
Is there a skill or talent that you learned just by watching a YouTube video?
Just recently, managers from Group Opportunity went out to meet and work. I locked my luggage thinking that I used the same code. But oops, it didn’t open. So thanks to YouTube, I found a hack on how to unlock a luggage. It saved the day.
What is your favorite word?
Faith. This never fails to keep me going no matter how steep the road is or how difficult life can be. I strongly believe that faith can move mountains.
What is something that has lost its charm because it became popular/trending?
I think the timeliest one would have to be the lato-lato toy (clackers). Because it became trending, a lot of kids in my neighborhood started playing it and have created so much noise. I can even hear it while I’m answering these questions.
Is there a musical instrument that you wish you could play well?
The piano. I learned a piano piece when I was in college and I fell in love with it. I just find the sound of the piano to be relaxing and calming.
Do you love cheese?
Yes. I like its texture and savory taste. And I think my daughter and I share the same taste buds.
If you could be a teacher, what subject would you teach?
Moral Values. I still believe that there’s hope for humanity. In a world full of busy people competing against each other and aiming for great rewards, I hope that we can still find equal importance in having good moral values. I’ve noticed that sometimes in our pursuit of greatness, we tend to forget to be kind. Why compromise the latter when it’s possible to have both?
What’s something that you will never get tired of looking at?
I won’t ever get tired of gazing at the vast sea and skies. These are wonderful creations that can never be replicated by human hands.
